My new bed is much higher than the one I'd used the previous ten years. At 5'3" I found getting in and out to be a tiny challenge and a bit irritating but nothing I couldn't live with. Until! I shattered my elbow on the sidewalk--five operations with six weeks of casts in between each and six after the final one--and getting in and out of bed became scarcy and extremely difficult. I thought of buying a stool but feared I might trip on it, especially getting up in the night. My arm has regained about 85% of its range of motion, but I'm always aware of taking care I don't fall again. I began to think I'd have to replace this expensive bed with a lower one if I could find such. I don't know what motivated me to search Amazon for a bed stool. (I do as much shopping on Amazon as I can, for many excellent reasons.) Glad I am that I did. This is the most important purchase I've made in eons, like an answer to an unconscious prayer. This bedside foot stool has made me feel safe getting in and out of the bed. I wish I had known about it when I first purchased my present one.The stool--I really think of it as a platform; stool doesn't seem to do it justice--has been beautifully and simply designed, faultless executed in solid maple, then meticulously finished. An attractive addition to any room. Its sturdiness allows me to feel completely at ease whenever I step on it. Thank you, thank you, thank you, KR Ideas and Amazon.I do suggest you spend a little time getting acquainted with this wonderful aid. Try positioning closer or furthr from the edge of the bed or whatever. Until using it becomes second nature, put a nightlight near the stool for those wee-hours trips to the loo.I'd give this wonder its own galaxy if I could.
